Members voted for change and a new direction in Local 481. In 2026 we are uniting to deliver it.

Hear the details and get involved at the first membership meeting of the year: Tuesday, January 13th, 7PM at the Masonic Lodge No. 623, 3366 Adams Ave in San Diego.

Here’s what you can expect in the coming months:

026 Member Engagement Drive: Your new officers and Business Agents will be visiting all shops and meeting with members face-to-face to hear what issues members want fixed and using union action to solve them.

Contract enforcement, steward, and bargaining training: We are working with the International Teamsters Union to plan steward training and bargaining training events open to all members who want to step up and play a role in our union.

Transparency and member communication: A new website with member education resources, local bargaining updates, and digital contracts is in the works. New social media and text and email updates on union events and your contract are coming soon!

2026 contract campaigns: We will be meeting with members and stewards at workplaces with upcoming contract expirations to build organizing plans and coordinate with the International Union to win the strongest contracts possible.

New organizing: With support from the International Union Organizing department, we will be identifying new organizing targets and planning campaigns to grow our numbers and our power.
